Thanks for the info Gardenfantic. I am currently researching prices etc. The Nikon you speak of is the only one I have found with such good zoom - 36 and without changing lens etc.
Yours looks like Meadow Cranesbill, Geranium pratense (but I could be wrong).
Snap... yesterday I took this snap of a bee on my Bloody Cranesbill, Geranium sanguineum....
Bloody Cranesbill is more of a thug than Meadow Cranesbill, but it's a great plant and will be flowering, and providing nectar, from now until late Autumn.

This woodpecker was feeding the baby (nearly as big as here too).
