weed ident
good afternoon.
I shall have to describe this as best i can because i have no means of downloading a photo. This weed grows flat to the gound at the bottom of the garden. it has tiny thick lush shiny leaves. It covers the whole of one corner of my garden. the only way i can get rid if it is by sliding my trowel underneath it and lifting it off in a flat sheet, along with half an inch of the soil underneath. It comes back year after year. what is it and how can i get rid of it?
Thankyou in advance.

Are the leaves a proper leaf shape or are they long and think or small and round? Just to try and get a better idea. Has it only just started coming up again?
Is it very damp and dark in that corner Caroline as I am wondering if is that slime weed?
hello, this is a quick response, thankyou, I like it! It has small round leaves and yes, it is damp in that corner, my hydranga loves it there! slime weed, yuck!
By 'slime weed' I meant liverwort. Google it Caroline and see if any of the images match your plant.
Could it be that weed someone else had the other day, it can be grown as an indoor plant and my mum used yo call it Baby Tears.....hold on quick google.......
Does it look like this?
yes orchidlady, very similar, but mine seems somehow 'closer' to the ground, denser. will google liverwort too. thanks forester2, see if it can be gotten rid of once and for all!
