Fungus on fruit tree

Found this fungus on a fruit tree in our garden. It isn't the healthiest of trees, but is this a sign its on its way out ? Should I do anything about it ?

They don't damage the tree so much as show that the tree has some rot.
I don't think you can do anything about it, it's part of life's rich tapestry.
