How long is a piece of string - a lot depends on how big they are when cut, how they've been dried, what the weather's like when you're using them etc.
The chaps on the allotments in our village would cut faggots of pea sticks from hedgerows every winter, and they'd be bundled up and stacked against the allotment shed wall waiting to be used.
Then when the peas were harvested and the pea haulms were dry the pea sticks and the haulms would be pulled up together and used to make a bonfire, on which the roots of perennial weeds (which had been drying in a heap all summer) would be burned.
Because of the twiggy nature of the fuel the ash would be full of potash which would be spread on the allotment. Nothing wasted and very little had to be bought.
