...and is this honestly a honeysuckle?
<p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in;">....just like the lilac thread: I bought what was described as an evergreen honeysuckle last spring and it was just a tiny sprig of leaves. I planted it in a pot and it grew very nicely and healthily - but it is so different from any honeysuckle I have ever had and I began to thing I'd been sold jasmine by mistake. I looked the other day and saw that it is covered in not quite blossom but cream coloured furry hairy blooms <img src="smilies/eye_rolling_smiley.gif" alt="" name="graphics1" width="19" height="19" align="BOTTOM" />. It is not unattractive but so unusual and unexpected I haven't bonded with it yet. If it is a genuine honeysuckle do you think I could pot it into a large square planter with 6ft trellis at right angles? (it's lying empty in slightly shaded pard of garden and needs a plant to look after) If it is not a honeysuckle does anyone have any idea what it could be? I've googled honeysuckle images but either the leaves are too big or the flowers have hairy fronds but also petals.

Hi Lavande, it is a honeysuckle - it looks like lonicera nitida, although the leaves look a bit bigger. I have loads of it - it's full of bees at the moment. Like you, I had trouble believing it was from the same family as other honeysuckles which look so different.
Thank you Lorea, it's amazing what a name can do - I googled nitida and suddenly I see my honeysuckle fill the screen. I should move it then because although it's doing well, it's perhaps a bit too shaded where it is at the moment and there are no bees in that corner of the garden. (which means I am now entitled to buy yet another plant to take its place in the shady corner
