Metal in soil
Our street in York was built on a rubbish tip, that I can only assume was used for the building of the nearby railway. When we moved in the garden was mostly paved over and I've been trying to turn it into borders. Some of it is just a case of sieving the hard core out of the soil, but in some parts there are bricks, pottery and metal slag. I can't remove all of the tiny bits of metal and wondered whether it would cause a problem if I plant fruit and veg in those areas health-wise. Does anyone have any thoughts on this please?
