Recommend me a plant
I have ten quid to squander at T&M due to them sending me the wrong plant and I need some insperation. I think the garden is norhwest facing ( I get the sun comming in about 10 in the morning and then it moves around the garden which is walled. I do like climbers and scented plants. I don't really thing I can add another climber since I have a grapevine, 4 clematis, a honeysuckle and a Zephyrine Droughin.
Any good ideas for what to squander this money on???

Ha ha ha.Not sure you would like to be buried to your ankles in my border year around!
Lavenders.
If your garden has high walls and faces north west, does it get sunshine in the winter? If not I don't think lavenders would like it very much - I had a similar garden once and they sulked in the chilly damp winters.
I think I'd go for a Philadelphus - amazing perfume and it would be happy in a semi-shaded garden. There are lots of varieties but Belle Etoile is a favourite http://apps.rhs.org.uk/plantselector/plant?plantid=1421

Penstemons every time
Daphne Odorata? Best smell ever.
Thanks for all your recommendations. I'll have a look at them and see what they are.
I've been lusting after a Daphne for years but they are quite pricey.
I have a Mock Orange Manteneau d'Hermine so I think I'll give that a miss but I am quite surprised that mine is not as fragrant as I expected.
I quite like the idea of Penstimons. Do they hybridise easily via selfseeding?
As for Lavender, I have one that is doing quite well in a pot and my track record with rosemary's quite bad. The one I got last year seems to be on its last legs. Got two new small plants via work for a quid. Bargain!
