Greenhouse watering

Probably a very simple questions for those in the know but here goes......

As you know I have a new GH and at present it is 45c (with the roof vents fully open), as I am working from home today I can check it regularly.  I watered my seed trays this morning but when I have just gone out to check they are dry again.  I don't want to overwater them but don't want them dry either.....how much is enough??

Also, it's not a problem on days like today, but what about when I'm out working and they need watering, starting to worry my plants will die during the day, I may just have to go part time or give up working altogether (taking my head out if the clouds now image). I have just ordered some of those tomato planter things to make sure there is always water for my toms and may get some for my cucumbers too.

Any advice appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks Andy and Scroggin, I will look at the watering first, I am hoping that when they all germinate and can go in pots they will be ok.  A lot are going outside anyway, it's just while they are germinating and / or small really image

Also damp down your greenhouse on hot days by watering the floor.  This will mean the air is more humid, reducing water evaporating from plants.

Thanks MrsG, I didn't think I needed to do that until it is really hot in the summer but will give it a go image

Watering from the bottom is best. This makes sure that the compost is evenly moist.

It also draws the roots of the plant downwards resulting in stronger growth.

I'll definitely water from the bottom then, thank you image
