Thanks Adam, I think you've got it, spiraea sounds familiar and have put the other one next to philadelphus and is definitely the same!

    Phew. Thanks everyone.

Note to self MrsG - 'always label my plants in future'.

Of course,  I've never put things in pots and not labelled them.....imageimageimage

I've got something leafy growing in a pot - no idea what it is or even why I put it in there! image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

mrs g sooo happy not just me who has pots of plants with no idea what they are!

  • For the first time last year I put labels into every pot of cuttings and seedlings (polishes halo)...which helped, believe me! If only I'd extended that to the borders I wouldn't have pulled out quite a bit of 'grass' that was shooting up in one area and which were actually ipheions that I'd forgotten I'd planted earlier in the year image Still, I do like the element of surprise, which is just as well as I have several clumps of perennial 'something' popping up and no clear idea of what it is yet (except that I planted it)!

Hmmm, I labelled one pot per group or so I thought. Doesn't help when I move the pots around and some die anyway. I did label lots of plants in the garden but those have all vanished! There's another unidentified cluster in a pot, straight grass like thing, must be a bulb but not flowered. I'll just wait for that one to surprise me as it's ok where it is.
