  • The one at the back looks like a Philadelphus maybe.

I'm glad I'm not alone in doing this, me and the OH are both guilty of this!

I have some new shoots in my pots with the daffs and lilies in, no idea what they are as I only remember planting the Lillie's and daffs!!  Will need to wait and see what they do!!

I think the big one at the front is a phlox. Is the red stemmed one a cornus of some sort?

The other week I bought 6 different Begonia tubers, 3 for a hanging basket and 3 for a pot but didn't write on the bags the varieties or which were hanging and which were for pots, all planted now so will have to wait and see!!

    Phlox thank you

    No duetzia or cornus.

Have philadelphus but don't remember taking a cutting, will be nice if I did.

Vebena bon yes, but others are much bigger, think this was one of the mollycoddled ones.

one left - the long one with green stem, it's on the tip of my tongue - might begin with s or v. late ish flowering, about 60cm tall, pink or blue spikes of flowers, aghhh I'm sure it is, can't even find a photo from last year.

  • Hi. I've got a feeling that the big one is a Spirea Douglasii. I have one in my garden and the new growth looks identical. Mrs G saying 'pink, fluffy flowers' also makes me think so.

I'd also tentatively back up Beatrice on a philadelphus for the top pot...the arching stem and leaf spacing looks like a small philadelphus I planted last year (belle etoile?)

Of course,....... I could also be very badly wrong on both counts (as is more likely) image
