Plant identifier 2

Can anyone help me to identify this plant too please?  Is it a hydrangea, perhaps?

Possibly Lottie, is there any dead growth above the leaves and are they smooth, they look as though they may be a bit prickly??

  • There was, but I cut it back.  I was a little worried it was Japanese knotweed earlier, but think that is paranoia, as there was an attack of it a few roads away.  I am pretty sure it was a hydrangea last year.  Maybe it just has weeds coming up through the centre?

    Definitely not JKW

I keep coming back for a look but I don't think it's one I'm familiar with

I still think it does look a bit like Hydrangea, but not convinced it is.  Although, there are different varieties and if it had dead growth/flowers above that you have cut back then that would fit.  I think maybe some of the leaves might be weeds or another plant???
