Grass treatment
Hi there,
Am looking for some advice with lawn care (am fairly new to this). Last year I spent so much time weeding etc I got a bit fed up. This year - loads of moss and weeds again.
I was in a shop and saw a lawn feed that supposedly killed weeds and moss whilst feeding the grass (I can't remember the brand). Sounds too good to be true! Is there one out there that works? Am looking for recommendations (for someone on a tight budget). Thanks!

Hi Ben,
We have used EverGreen Weed and Feed as we tend to get moss in our grass along with weeds. Its one you scatter from its container and then you water in if it doesn't rain. There are others that you have to mix with water and pour if you have the time to do it.
I have tried a few over the years, most dont work for long or very well or not at all, the only one that we find works is Westland weed, moss killer and feed. We didnt even sow the bare patches from where the moss died, the grass was underneath and came up very quickly
Its quite hard work though, you have to rake the moss out when its dead.
Mid April is the perfect time to do it.
First aerate your lawn with a garden fork, making holes every 30cm or so. Then apply a fine sprinkling of Evergreen complete 4in1, when the ground is not too wet but when you know we are due some rain. Don't cut the grass for at least a week. Then rake out any dead moss etc. you'll notice an instant difference......I then repeat the weed and feed about 4 weeks later. Good luck! J
