Peonies and iris

I have a bed of bearded iris that I planted  when we moved in 2 years ago this july coming. The previous owner used to have peonies in there but took them with her because they were her grandmothers. Last year I noticed some peony shoots coming through around the irises, they weren't really a problem, but this year they are getting quite big and today I noticed they are in flower. I would like to separate the peonies from the iris'. I am assuming it will be best to do this in autumn, am I right?

  • hi Lisa I would leave alone this year and move the irises then please remember that they need a good sunny spot and not to bury the corns just put the roots in the ground and the rest on the service as they need to be baked in the sun to get flowers nexted year.
