Rhubarb, rhubarb rhubarb

Hi All!

I have two rhubarb plants in recycling containers the black ones for paper I think. Both were bought at the same time as maidens so I didn't take any fruit from it but used the leaves to brew an insect weed killer. This year one plant is looking good apart from some funky browning of parts of the leaves (No chew marks) The healthy ones leaves are around 10" in diameter the other just has stubs of leaves. Could use some advice?? My aunt had rhubarb in her garden that was baked in summer never fed and had barely any soil and thrived I'm at a loss as to the cause.

they like a lot of sun and water plus manure and don't pull the stalks to soon. imageyou could force them by covering with a pot (big).

  • Thanks for the heads up guys! My garden is at the back of my block of flats there's not a lot of ground free and they do take up a lot of space. I made sure there were lots of holes and crocks in the bottom and have barely watered them because there's been so much rain here. I might take them out and add in some Coir to the soil to dry it out a bit
