Soggy Discentra
Hi, i purchased a bare root discentra (sorry if spelt incorrectly) from Wilko's earlier this year. It was going great guns but started to look a bit floppy a couple of weeks ago. This morning a lot of the new leaf growth had gone brown and dry. I've snipped this off and decided to see what the roots are up to. They look a bit brown, and muggy. Probably too much watering on my part. Is it worth leaving the root out of a pot for a bit to let it dry out or should I plant it back up ASAP and hope for the best? Thanks muchly!

I think you're right about overwatering it. I'd plant it back into a mixture of fine grit and compost, water it once and then not again until the compost feels dry to about an inch depth when you stick your finger in.
Lovely jubbliee - thanks Bob.
I'm very guilty of this. Just come in from the greenhouse and I'm vowing not to water until pots are dry. So many feel damp and have that green mould on the top. I've scrapped most of this off and hope it all drys out. Definitely a lesson for me!
love the Felco No 7 secateurs.
That is one keen eye you have there Hostafan1! They are felcos - but I have no idea what number!
