help please :)

Hi, I have at the moment a very overgrown graden (inherited), I have gravel that has been completely over grown by weeds and a week off work and want to get stuck in, however I don't know where or how to start. My plan was to start by pulling up weeds up that I could but then do I dig and turn over the gravel to get rid of the rest?? Please please help !! My budget is minimal !! Advice given will be much appreciated image thanks in advance x

    Hi Becky image

I think your plan of action is on the right track. When you pull up the weeds you'll find out whether there's a membrane of some sort under the gravel.

I'd also try to 'sweep' as much gravel off as you can and collect it somewhere - then you need to decide what you want to do with the garden - do you want to create some beds and a lawn, or re-instate the gravel but with some beds around the edge - have a think, let us know and we can give you a bit more help.

It would be helpful to know which way your garden faces, and if you have any idea of soil type etc. and a photo or two of the space would help us to understand what you're dealing with.
