Hampton Court Flower Show

We are going on the Thursday and will arrive by bus before the show opens,

We are wondering how crowded the show will become- do most people arrive around lunchtime or will the place be packed by 11am? And how long should we expect to stay at the show-  will 4-5 hours be enough?

If we travelled into central London from HC by train to Clapham Junction and on to Victoria would the trains be absolutely crammed at 4ish? Elbow room only? How packed do the trains become?

What about buses from HC? Would the general traffic be so horrendous to rule out bus travel?

It does get pretty busy, and lots of people get there for when the gates open at 10, but i've never found the crowds at Hampton that bad as it is quite a big site (unlike Chelsea, which is a real squeeze).  Traffic can be awful, and the buses don't get priority, so sit in the queues like everyone else.  We normally arrive at the start and finish about 5 - and in that time have seen everything, plus leisurely stops for lunch, coffee, tea and cakes.  Never used the train, but would expect them to be quite busy.  Have a wonderful time, its my favourite show!
