I started growing some Celeriac from seed last year and they grew ok through the season but come autumn they were no bigger than a golf ball.

I left some over winter in the ground and they still look really healthy plants and are throwing out more leaves.

My question is, can I leave these plants in the ground and carry on growing them this season, or will they become woody?

They are more likely to go to seed. I dont think the rootball will grow much more but if you are'nt desperate for space you could leave tehm and see what happens.

Last summer was on the whole dry and celeriac need a LOT of water, so this may be why they did'nt swell?
