I bouth a Magnolia Red Lucky last year from Thompson-Morgan and it just come into flower but instead of being red pink it is yellow. I think I have been sold the wrong bare rooted specimen. Here is what my flowers look like.

Just been on their site and it looks spookly like a magnolia - yellow river. Still looks nice though.

I think you are bang on the money! I wanted the other one because of its ability to flower twice a year. So what to do now. Write and complain?

Yup. Like marshmello, I think the one you've got is lovely, but the point is it's not what you bought. Or you thought you bought. Have you got any records of the purchase?

  • I find Thompson-Morgan very fair and helpful when I have had a problem relating to items purchased.

I have an order number from when I bought it. I emailed them at the same time as I posted this asking them if this was the wrong plant giving them the photos and the order number. I agree with Figrat it is a rather nice plant but it is not what I wanted. Lets see what they say.

Got an email from the on Monday and they are sending me a new one plus an e-voucher for ten quid. Now I need to figure out what to squander that on. Pity you cant use it for postage and package.

YES! Only problem now is that I don't really know where to plant it. Luxury problem!
