First one is a paeony.  The next ones look like bulbs. final one could be Kerria, but that is a guess.

1 paeony as Berghill says, plus some celandines

    2. I think they're snowdrops, not much else has made a seed pod yet

    3 could be bluebells

4 looks  like ground elder, is there lots of it coming up all over the place?

Can you post the photos here? I can't get the links to open. Just click on the tree icon.

Ditto to 3, I'd say bluebells too! The only thing I seem to be able to identify image

Gosh, if number four is ground elder, you need to get started on destroying it.  Pick it, crush the leaves between your fingers, and if it has a strong smell, it might be.  I hate that smell.  Ground elder is a war.  I really  hope it is something else.. image

  • thank you kindly for all your replies.  It may well be ground elder as we razed it all and this has been the first one to shoot up and yes it is all over the place.    I will keep removing it... unfortunately its not just on that particular bed but nearly all the beds that we razed.

we also planted lots of flower seeds and now I cant differentiate which ones we planted and which ones are the weeds, hence the photos.

thank you again for all your help.
