Bluebottles & Conifers

Whilst painting my fences over the weekend I noticed that the part of the garden with a conifer hedge was over - run with bluebottles! Is there an attraction between the both?
It wasn't just 1 or 2 there was a swarm all over and around the conifers and they've been there for a few days. Any ideas how I can get rid of them? I cannot stand bluebottles!

when we moved here in Dec '12 we had millions of them, literally, no really!!! overwintering in our shed. They'll disperse soon as it's warming up.
Is there a dead animal or bird in there?
Bluebottles will succumb to normal household flyspray.
All insect will succumb to the spray. The bees, the ladybirds, everything. Try and get over your feelings about bluebottles, they're just part of nature.
They're not in your kitchen- don't worry

I did think something may have died underneath but there was nothing there.
I am trying to become more tolerant of flies but theyre so annoying buzzing around the conservatory nearby when Im trying to read something lol
I think they've just been sheltering there over the winter - as the weather warms up they'll leave and go wherever files go in the summer.
