How do I get rid of it

Hi I have ground elder coming in large swathes through the lawn, we mowed it down at the weekend and have now dug a few new shoots out of the border nearest to the outbreak - thought about spraying it but was worried about killing the lawn as the area its in is around 2 meters - it wasn't there last summer so maybe the little birdies have dropped a seed or two and with all the wet we have had? Any ideas how to get rid of it would be appreciated also if I just keep mowing it will it replace the lawn?image

I did a little gardening job for someone and dealt with the ground elder surrounding a peony by digging it up, washing the roots to get rid of any ground elder, planting the peony temporarily in a bucket. Then going through the soil thoroughly using a sieve to remove any hint of Ground Elder roots.

artjak, I'm not sure the method would work with  Still Learning's lawn though.

depending how large the "large swathes" are, I'd  either spot treat with roundup gel, or , if it's a massive area, I'd spray the lot , let the ground elder die off then re-seed.

I know that artjak. When I read it back it came across as quite rude, I meant it light-heartedly . I apologise for any offence as I can assure you none was meant.
