To chop or not to chop

Hi please could you advise me,i have a corner of my garden which has gone a bit wild can i cut back a ( red ) honeysuckle and a white jasmine without causing harm so i can redirect them.Thank you all in advance.

You might sacrifice a season's flowering, but sounds like it needs to be done. Try to leave a few longer stems of each to help you re-establish some form of framework.

By the way talking of hosta,s i'm trying something new on mine this year,i've put roof tiles around my plants in the ground and painted them with copper slip( industrial thread protector ) lets see what happens.
