Morning! I have just had one of those special offer emails through from Amazon telling me there is an offer on the Contech water scarecrow £38.99 with free delivery. This is an excellent product (imo) and well worth the money instead of spending out on various other recommended deterrents. This works and doesn't go out of date, disappear with the rain etc. it is moveable and just needs an outside tap. I think it's good timing for the beginning of the season to stop cats doing what they do in newly turned soil or on emerging seedlings etc.

I had one. I used to forget it was there and get soaked at regular intervals.
The animals worked it out and went around it.
we have foxes and badgers plus cats that burst through the fences leaving a hole to be repaired so in the end we decided to leave one hole for them all to pass through but on the whole we live with how it is and clear up if we have too and devise all sorts of home protection for the seeds e.t.c. that don't cost a thing.
Hello everyone, may I ask a question refering to the scarecrow would it frighten birds as my Blackbirds, and Tits have had chicks id be greatful for replies thankyou .
For the water scarecrow to work you have to keep moving the sensors regularly so the offending cat/fox/badger doesn't learn to avoid them.

Hi Vicki. The water scarecrow has adjustable settings so that it will not affect birds if you don't want it to. It is approved by the RSPB (I think)
