Why has my 2 year old pear tree not produced fruit
Hello, Can anyone tell me why my pear tree has been covered in blossom the last two years but has not produced fruit. It is in a pot so that it does not get too large for the garden. It is about 3 feet tall and is in approx 15in pot. I am wondering whether it is something to do with pollination and if so, will I need to get another pear tree of the same variety or would perhaps an apple tree do the job. Our next door neighbour has a cherry tree which overhangs our garden but this obviously has not been sufficient. Please help as the shoots are beginning to appear on the tree and I hope to get results this summer. Thank you. Pamela

You need another pear to pollinate it to get fruit - other fruit species won't do.
If you look up your tree on this table, you'll see possible pollinators:
