Root dripping water
I have a problem that has me foxed.
I was ruthless with an overgrown border 2 weeks ago digging down to around 8 to 12 inches to clear out unwanted weeds and old shrubs. Since then the soil has become saturated and very muddy in an area around a foot square. Digging a hole to investigate I discovered a severed root that seems to be dripping water. Over 24 hours the hole fills up to ground level then stops. Our soil is sandy once the layer of top soil is dug through. The root in question could be from my neighbours walnut tree. I had dyno rod out to take a look and the chap was stumped. His answer was put fish in the hole and enjoy. Looking at plans, no pipes are located in our back garden . Any help would be much appreciated.
