Im trying to grow hesperantha coccinea from seed, they germinate fine but as they get to about an inch and half tall they seem to go limp and fall over, does any have or had this problem? I also seem to have fungus gnats and dont know if its the grubs causing the problem

Damping off diease, try cheshunt compound bought at GC's and don't over water.

Thanks would it be best to remove the effected seedlings?

Yes remove any diseased seedlings, but I think I'd treat it and maybe re sow any seed you have left.

Hesperantha will root from root cuttings when you get a decent plant.

Thanks, I have plenty of seeds left this is my second sowing same happened to the first lot too

If you have lots of fungus gnats, the little grubs will be eating the roots. Wet compost is the cause of the fungus gnats and the damping off. Only water from below
