Lunaria, verigated, where can I buy some?

I thought I would pop on this forum to ask if any of you gardening bod's can help me please?

I would like to buy some Lunaria plants (Honesty), in particular the variegated leafed form. I have seen seeds for sale on the internet, but not any young plants at all?

I could grow them from seed but I really would like to see some in flower this year and they are biennials.

So if any of you know where I might buy some from please let me know.

Many thanks image

Never seen the plants for sale but many places sell the seed.

I've never seen honesty for sale as plants. Having  germinated, pricked out, potted on and grown on this plant I've found it doesn't like all that messing about. It likes to be sown in the ground and left where it is.

Like that it won't be an easy and profitable project which growers like.

  • Thanks punkdoc and nutcutlet, I have bought some seeds and I shall sow them where they are to grow ( as nature intended). I have had some honesty in an old garden and it self seeded well, but I have never had the rather pretty variegated version with it's pretty 'frosting' on it's leaves. I guess I shall just sow them and have to wait until next year to see them in bloom. Thanks anyway image

Did you get the white flowered version or the purple tttb?

  • The white flowered version.

    I love that, a real eye-catcher

  • Yes, I love the way that the leaves look like they have frosting all around them. I am looking forward to seeing the seeds grow. I know that last year Suttons were selling 16 plug plants of this variety but they do not have any now.
