Who owns the seed companies?

I have been buying seeds for a very long time but in recent years I have noticed a similarity between some of the old favourite family firms. Mr Fothergills and DT Brown are part of the same stable but who owns them? And how many other seed companies are now part of larger concerns?

I like to stick with the smaller companies while they're still there.
Chiltern seeds
Plant World seeds
Nutsncones (I think though I haven't used them)
Plants of Distinction
Derry Watkins, can't remember what name she trades under but google will find her.
Nutncones only have good things to say about them fab seeds....
Just bought some seeds from W Robinson & Son online. I wanted to get some Red Orache and Mexican Tree Spinach ( inspired by the recent Garden Revival show) to try this year. They have a good list of unusual seeds.
I have bought some veg seeds from garden4less. Only 50p per pack! Have not had a chance to plant them yet. Has anyone else used this company?
anyone know a good supplier for top soil in the Vale of Glamorgan??
Jane, I think you should start a new thread for this and you'll get more replies
