I have a flower/ shrub in my garden. It is about three feet tall. The leaves are light green. The flowers which hang in bunches are red. It is just starting to die back now.

i cant find anyone who knows what it is.

i have pruned it in earlier years and made a bit of a mess!

I would post pictures if i knew how.

    Hi Barry

I can't help you with the plant, but to post a pic you use the tree icon on the tool bar across the top of the box you type in (just along from the smiley face). This will then allow you to get the pic from your computer/tablet.

    Hope this helps image

Look up Himalayan honeysuckle or LEycesteria Formosa.

You don't stop doing new things because you get old, you get old because you stop doing new things. <3

It sounds like lycesteria indeed - also known as pheasants berry because it was often grown as cover for young birds for shooting!  It is a nice plant but can spread very rampantly - I prune mine - take out the old stems - in autumn, and it gives me plenty of new shoots for the year.  There is also a golden leafed version which is pretty.  I grow mine in a very large pot, but as anyone knows who ever reads my posts knows that I grow just about anything in pots.
