Does anyone know if it is possible to take cuttings of Cosmos Choca Mocha and if so how should I go about it?

Is that the one that smells of chocolate?  I'd like to know that too, mine not started to regrow after winter and concerned that i've actually lost it now. image

  • Yes that's the one and I lost mine over winter so I've bough a new tuber and it's sprouting well. I was hoping it would be possible to propagate in a similar way to dahlias as yet the cuttings I have taken don't look very happyimage

lift the tubers the way you would dahlias split in the same manner and grow on in greenhouse conditions

  • Can you split the tubers?

Yes, As long as each split has a growing point or shoot. best done in spring when they start to grow.

    It's not a mess, it's a nature reserve.
  • Thank you x

  • i just cut off some young stems and popped them in a plantpot with some potting mix. didnt think i would see anything till next year thats if it survived but i have noticed this morning it has a flower on it. as it is it is just on the patio and dont know what to do with it now.  does it need to be tucked away for winter?
