After the awful rain, it was a mild day in north Cornwall. So i put my winter woolies on and got stuck in to the garden. It was lovely being outside and looking at the bulbs being to appear. Like Monty i have a retriever dog and i think he enjoyed it to. The big surprise was the French lavender was in flower. image

It's great out there. Another mountain of prunings through the shredder. Leaves me clear to make another mountain tomorrow.

Lovely time of year jad. I'm always out there if the weather is OK

Lovely Daphne, Salino but I've already let one die and they're too expensive for that

There is currently the developing possibility of a real cold snap at the beginning of February, things are still apparently developing, however the current conditions over the arctic are pointing to a mass of cold air moving south which usually affects the UK, although how far south it will go is unclear at present.

Gorgeous blue skies and sunshine here in Norfolk this morning - the birds have only one thing on their minds image

It would be very unusual if we got through winter without a cold spell.  I shall make the most of the good weather while it's here.

We had our cold spell on Saturday night Nut - had to break the ice on the bird bath in the morning image image

  • A hint of "what is yet to come" for South Pembs this mornig with cat-ice on the various pots and pans of water left out for the birds. We had quite a number of heavy (squally) hail showers too yesterday. After a clear start that lasted up 'til 1pm, we reverted to steady rain and rapidly falling barograph throughout the afternoon and looks set for the evening! How's it go?
