Has anyone used J. Arthur Bowers manure on their vegetable plot. The reason I ask is that I bought three bags from the garden centre yesterday and when I opened the first bag it was made up of wood shavings and well rotted manure (no smell at all). I never used it because I wasn't sure about the wood shavings. Last year I tried Miracle-gro soil conditioner and this was made up with wood shavings and it took ages for my vegetable plants to get over the lack of nitrogen due to the decomposing wood shavings robbing the soil of nitrogen. I was very disappointed. The other eds where I used none did very well.
