Fargesia Nitida

I was hoping someone could advise me the best course of action before planting 2 pots of Fargesia Nitida.  I understand this is a clumping bamboo, but I don't want it to take over the borders. 

Is there some thing I can do before I plant them, i.e dig the perimeter I want it to grow out to and then put something down around the edges to stop it growing beyond that point?  Or is it best to get a large container and plant that in the ground with the bamboo?

I don't have large borders (approx 2 foot deep) but I was planing on putting it in both corners at the back of my garden, one will be next to my well established Vibernum.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I want to plant them next week after I manage to remove my buddleia tree stump/roots.
