Do Vine Weevel's fly?

I have noticed over the last 2 years a beetle that looks very like a vine weevel but it fly's.  Now and again they get into the house and fly toward the lights - is this a vine weevel or what else could it be ? how do I get rid of them?

They really are awful things, I don't think they can fly but I get them in the house, even in the bath !

Yes they look very like the vine weevel but these ones DO fly. When flying they make a whirring noise at which stage I duck for cover and quickly grab the hoover.
