I live in the west of France in the Charente Maritime. I have 3 Ceanothus which have suffered through the cold weather we had last month. We had -10 for a few days and some snow. All the leaves have gone brown. What should I do?

i lost mine last year due to -conditions, i repotted, put bark round, even put fleece round to keep warm, but nothing happened. love to know what other views are.
Hi I thought someone might have an answer to the problem as mine even went brown this last winter which has been milder here in Somerset. My book says Ceanothus needs shelter from harsh winds and severe frosts so I think mine needs a new home.
