 A friend has asked what this tree is - I'm not brilliant at ornamental trees so please HELP!!! image

    I think it's a crab apple, note the word "think"!

    But I don't know really Bob. Just the shape of the fruit and likely roadside plantings

    Oh, crossed with Nut, but we both think the same. Fruit can vary a lot from round to oval, red, orange to yellow and the end can be neat and apple like or messier and more star like as the one in the picture. It looks like an oldish, unpruned tree.

    Definitely one of the Malus persuasion. Only a few hundred to choose from!

    Just realised, there is one of those opposite my house; it is stunning at this time of year. My first thought was some kind of crab apple.
