Morello Cherry Tree

Green Fingers!

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and this is my first go! I'm also knew to gardening! I received a potted morello cherry tree as a gift last year. It's still in the same pot as my garden has been completely cleared. I'm now almost ready to start thinking about where I'm going to plant this fruit tree and I have a number of questions, some of which will probably sound ridiculous but hey I'm completely new to gardening so please excuse my ignorance. I'm thinking of planting it against a fence in the side garden which is SE facing. Also I was wondering if I could leave it as a potted plant (just replant it in a larger pot)? If its best to put it in the ground can it be, I think it's called 'fanned'? Where the branches are trained to grow in the shape of a fan. I look forward to any good advice. Thanks
