Patchy lawns...
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to how I can help my lawn recover from years of neglect...
I moved into a new house last summer, and have had to start over with the garden which had been badly neglected for years. The borders have settled nicely, and all but a couple of particularly tender plants seem to be surviving the cold weather okay. The grass, however is another story.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have faired so well as the rest, and is looking really patchy, and full (and I mean full!) of moss. As we are beginning to move into the time of year when we start to think about the new growing season arriving, I am slightly unsure of the best direction to go. I don't want to have to rip it all up and start again, as my budget is on the low side, but I am unsure whether simple re-seeding will do the job.... I wonder whether anyone will have any suggestions?

Try to rack it before it starts to grow and mow up all the moss after.
Hello yellowcone87,
Have a look at our video advice for spring lawn care. It's a bit early to start now but it won't be long until we get some warmer spring days when you can get going. The video includes advice for re-seeding on top of turf that's already there.
