rose bush care over winter

In February of this year I planted 6 rose bushes in my small front garden It is mainly surfaced with small pebbles/stones  but all the roses are doing well What do I need to do to protect them from frost and do i also need to cut them back at all

    If they are large then cut back by a third to prevent wind rock, but you prune them low and feed in Spring.  They are hardy , so need no protection against frost.  The plant protects itself by dropping leaves.

    I've just done what Fidgetbones says as last of my flowers have just finished.

  • If you've not pruned a rose before, it might be a good idea to look up how to do it on a website first.  You need to prune dead or diseased stems first, then to outward facing buds to the centre of the bush stays fairly clear, it helps prevent diseases.
