laying new turf lawn

I am about to embark on laying a new turf lawn for someone. If I use weed killer to get rid of the old one, how long should I safetly wait to lay the new turf ( after all necessary preparation of course) . Also I live in France and here I've been told to roll the soil and after I've laid the new turf to roll that too. In all the info and videos I've watched in the UK they say NEVER roll a new lawn. Can anyone help please??

all depens on what you ise some say around 6 weels but weed killer won't work to weel in the weather the weeds ain't active when it is cold !!!
