I'm just curious of what some hard plants are to grow from seed, since I have to right a report abot a seed, but I want to write about something that is intresting, any ideas?
A lot of plants native to the UK need the equivalent of a cold winter. I'd have to use google to find examples as I don't know off the top of my head. I'd guess some tree seeds would need this process.
Is that hard Gm? I've never tried that from seed. I'll have to see if they've all dropped off, maybe I can give it a try. A cold germinator would be my guess
We collect the seed and then you have to wash all the soft berry stuff off and let them dry. We then put them in the fridge for a couple of months and then pot the seeds. We get nearly 100% germination every time. We don't always get the black grass from seed (out of 100%, 70% black, 30% green), we do get some green ones too but they look every bit as good as the black ones. Give it a try nut.

Seeds that need stratifying (periods of cold and warm temps) can be difficult to grow. They might be of interest to write about.
Of course, any suggestions?

Give us an idea of what you're after Echo.

This site has a lot of info on seeds and germination requirements and will help with the neccessary research
Ophiopogon (black grass).

I will Gardenmaiden. I wonder if some of my patch are self-seeded, they're quite green. I've never considered that possibilty before.
I'm not too sure, just anything that's intresting to write about and hard to grow. ha. I'll find something.
Rosemary seeds are difficult to germinate, I never have much success, don't know why.
