Potato Blight ?

Year one growing potatos in containers was successful. Year two i planted early variety in November 2011 which have failed with first frost. Top foliage fell over and died away.What i need to know is, do i excavate the tubers and destroy them and do i have to discard the soil they were growing in , and do i have to decontaminate the containers and with what ?
