Fruit trees

I have acquirred some 12" tall sprigs one of wild cherry and one crab apple. Should I plant them in pots, already I have one very large pot, or straight into the ground? My soil is heavy clay, garden sunny.

if you whant the trees to grow really big and loads of fruit to grow then i sugest you grow them in the groung if you whant a small tree then grow in a pot for 15 or less fruit
Do they have roots, Herbgarden 2 or are they cuttings?
