Wild Garlic

Does anyone grow wild garlic please?

  • I took over this garden and it is over run with it. It seems to be a bit of a weed here.

It needs shade, reasonable drainage and moisture, and that's about it. Don't plant it in the ground because it spreads ferociously and rapidly becomes a real pest. Keep it contained in a large pot on hardstanding.

  • wild garlic is best left in the wood, its very invasive and there is always plenty to pick.Wild garlic is lovely and not so strong a taste .image

  • Why Flowering rose?. jekka herbs sell plants at exhobatant prices. Where did they get them from? M y friend has them in her garden and can't get enough of them. As  you say, they are lovely with dainty white clusters in early spring and the leaves taste heavenly in peso for pasta as they are not too strong. Besides, they plug a gap for garlic as the real garlic bulbs are not ready till the summer. The leaves freeze well too. I would love to grow my own instead of robing the wild.

I think flowering rose's point is that it is very invasive, and there is ample in the wild. But if you're determined, I would strongly suggest you follow Alina's advice.
