Planting spring bulbs for potting on later?
Hi all! I'm a newbie to this forum but have read some great advice here, so thought I would come to you lovely lot with my query! I am getting married in March next year and, as I love my garden and am gettin married on a budget, am planning to make my own table centres usin March flowering spring bulbs. I've bought a tonne of beautiful march flowering bulbs from Fentogollan which have just arrived (all looking very healthy). The pots they will eventually go in would not survive the winter outdoors, so ideally I would like to plant up all my bulbs in small plastic pots and then plant up the proper pots just before the wedding, to ensure I get the healthiest ones in the final displays. I can't seem to did much advice online about planting bulbs into small pots for planting on later, and would be grateful for anyone's experience on this? I know it's ok to plant bulbs in pots for the spring, but not sure how they will fare in small pots over winter (should they be outdoors or in the greenhouse?) and how they may react to being planted on? I would be really grateful for ANY comments?! Thank you!
