We have a 20+ year old victoria plum which is only 6-8 ft from the front of our house. We also had a field drain put in last year which runs right past the roots of the plum tree. The tree has been sending up suckers for years now that I have cut back to the root when I see them but this year I've noticed them coming up much closer to the house and on the other side of the garden. Should I be concerned that the roots may be getting into the foundations of the house and/or the field drain. If so what is the solution? Should I have it removed?
