Cotoneaster causing concern!

The ends of the leaves on my new cotoneaster lacteus are going black.  Help Please!

    Have a look at "fireblight" and see if you think that is what it is.

  • Sounds like fire light. Always dip secateurs or loppers in a dilute solution of Jeyes fluid between each cut. Cut out all infected areas back to healthy shoot.

    If it is fireblight and there are any pear trees in your garden or in the vicinity, get rid of the whole plant fast, as it will spread to them!

  • Thanks for your advice. Have only had it a week and not touched it yet.  Company think it might be in shock!  So giving it a couple of weeks to settle in.  Don't think fire blight as not on trunk and couldn't cut it out as its  affected every leaf.
