  • Good Luck Lila, you will be sorely missed, you are one of the few bloggers that always reply to our postings. Thank you and hurry back soon.

Oh, and sorry about the grumpy old man comment in James' Dahlia blog.
  • lots of luck and good wishes lila. come back soon
  • I hope your menfolk will come up trumps and plant great veg. and learn how to cook them too so you can have the healthy meals necessary for the mind to work its best. good luck in that exam.
  • Thanks for your kind comments everyone, much appreciated. I'll miss sharing gardening tips with you but I hope you have a really good gardening season ahead (not long till it's time to plant sweet peas, followed by broad beans...)

I am keeping my head down on a psychology course.
  • Can anyone tell me a use for Allotment grown grapes They are small , very pippy & sweetm

I had loads on my vine this year & they're now all over the ground
  • Good luck in the exam Lila.
  • Could I possibly beg a round-robin, please, of your experts?
HAS ANYONE GOT A COPY I COULD BORROW, OF ISSUED BBC VIDEO OF GEOFFREY SMITH'S "MR SMITH'S VEGETABLE GARDEN"? In mid-70s, Geoff filmed it on my Dad's allotments in Manchester(it was pretty ground-breaking in its time - pun intended!) including bits with my dad on his own plot. Dad was stalwart there for 50-odd years, giving up only when he was 90 (before he died aged 94). BBC only seem to have retained a few episodes and even Geoff & his family never had copy, nor even the 'Best of'' VHS issued later by BBC.... NOR DID WE! I have exhausted all library & eBay sources and you and your afficionados are now my last hope!.

    Thanks. Brian

  • Is there no equivalent to the British Library for published videos? Might be worth asking the Museum of Gardening.
