Can anyone tell me if this is Japanese Knotweed?
Thanks,
Donald
it looks like leycesteria formosa better known as himalayan honeysuckle
Yes, looking at the flower, I would agree, Himalayan honeysuckle.
yep.
not japanese knot weed .leycesteria is what it is ,the stems are bamboo like with lovely shrimp flowers followed by blackberries.
Thanks for your replies Liz, Fidgetbones, Nutcutlet and Flowering Rose.
As you'll understand, I'm quite relieved !
Also known as 'pheasant berry'. Be careful of the black berries, they stain like**** and the stain is very difficult to remove from clothing. Apart from that, a lovely plant.
